Dr Rebecca Wood is a general and perinatal psychiatrist. She is a medical doctor, who has undertaken specialty training in psychiatry.
Dr Wood has extensive experience in general adult psychiatry, and is familiar with the range of mental health disorders, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia.
She has a special interest in perinatal psychiatry, which involves mental health conditions which occur during pregnancy and in the first post natal year.
Dr Wood has worked in several psychiatric and general major teaching hospitals in Sydney, treating both inpatients and outpatients. She has published in international and Australian peer reviewed medical journals and presented her research at mental health conferences. She won the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists Maddison Medallion in 2015.
Dr Wood’s dog, a toy cavoodle, joins her for sessions with patients as a therapy dog. Therapy dogs are particularly helpful in providing a therapeutic, safe and soothing environment. Please let us know if you don’t want this to happen.
